Dr. Marco Antonio Hidalgo is the founder and general director of Tecnología Genética, S. de R. L., and creator of the "Torito" device. A graduate of Unversidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1959, he began to work with cattle early on in his education. Later, he worked for the Rockefeller Foundation and received his Masters in Science from the University of Minnesota in the US. Dr. Hidalgo was a profesor at the Universidad Nacional at the Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia and taught a class on Animal Reproduction and Artificial Insemination for over 30 years at the graduate and post-graduate levels. He was Reproduction Department Coordinator and University Advisor.
When he was not teaching, Dr. Hidalgo acted as Associate General Director of the Instituto Internacional de Investigaciones at Syntex in the area of Cattle Reproduction.

In 1970 he founded Servicios de Inseminación Mexicanos, SIMEX, the first private Mexican cattle semen production and marketing company, which offered consulting services and training in artificial insemination.Today he continues to develop reproduction programs with cattle ranches throughout the country.

- Veterinarian Medical Services Manager at PRODEL (Programa de Descentralización de las Explotaciones Lecheras del Distrito Federal) 1978-1980, in the largest milking valley in the world (25,000 cows in 200 hectares).
- Secretary of Agriculture, Goverment of the State of Puebla, 1987-1991
- General Director, Comisión Nacional de Mejoramiento Genético y Reproducción Animal (CONAMEGRA) 1991-2003 (National Comission for Genetic Improvement and Animal Reproduction)
